Lauren McCaughan

L.Ac., DACM

Lauren has been invested in health and wellness since childhood. With two parents working in the medical field, she has always known the importance of taking care of the body. As an adult, through her own healing journey, she began to explore the practices of Eastern Medicine and discovered not only her own betterment, but a true passion for integrative medicine.

After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from University of California Santa Barbara, Lauren began her studies at Pacific College of Health and Sciences in San Diego, where she earned her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Acupuncture and Eastern Medicine. During her training, she interned at Rady Children’s Hospital with a focus on chronic pain conditions. She also completed internships in pediatrics, diabetes, dermatology, and women’s health while practicing various styles of acupuncture in the Pacific College Clinic.

Through her years of clinical experience, Lauren’s interests have naturally gravitated towards women’s health: menstrual conditions, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, pediatrics, and family-centered care. She also offers focused care for stress management, mental and emotional well-being, and holistic skincare through cosmetic facial acupuncture.

Lauren truly believes in the body’s ability to heal when it is properly supported. She recognizes that all people are unique, and personalizes each treatment to meet the needs and comfortability of the individual patient. Her approach to care often involves lifestyle and nutritional support, high quality herbs and supplements, acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, manual therapy, and energy healing. With these modalities, she aims to treat the root cause and invite healing back to the mind, body and spirit.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending time with her family, adventuring in nature, staying active, cooking up nourishing foods with her husband, and enjoying life at the beach in North County San Diego.
