Olivier Jiminez
NYS, CAS Massage Therapist
Born in the South of France and raised in the French Riviera, Olivier left High School early to pursue education in hospitality management at the Institut national de Formation au Tourisme et à l’Hôtellerie (INFETH ) at 19. At the age of 21, he started his career in fine dining restaurants, where he worked for over 30 years. While traveling around the world, mostly in South Asia, India, Nepal, and Thailand, Olivier was introduced to massage therapy in Thailand, and realized the importance of caring for one’s body and mind.
In India, Olivier discovered Ayurvedic healing which led him to adopt a holistic approach in his life and helped him find a balance in his life and inner self.
23 years ago, Olivier finally settled in New York City and after spending over 20 years in NYC he has made the move to San Diego with his wife and their 17-year old daughter.
Over the past 8 years, Olivier has been Captain and Maître D at Lincoln Ristorante at the Lincoln Center of Performing Arts, where he met many performers, specifically ballet dancers. Dancers, like all high-level athletes, have a structure for physical and mental wellness, and rely on massage therapy for pre- and post-event care. This sparked the idea of studying massage therapy, with a specialization in sports medicine, stress relief, and relaxation.
To pursue his dreams, Olivier studied at the Swedish Institute: A College of Health Sciences to obtain an Associate Degree of Occupational Studies in Massage Therapy.
He is now a NYS and CAS licensed massage therapist, and to further his passion and his skills, he is studying to obtain his NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork in Sports.
