James Verdi

Acupuncturist

James Verdi is a California Licensed Acupuncturist specializing in the treatment of neuromuscular disorders causing pain and limited range of motion throughout the body. His desire to heal using acupuncture and Chinese medicine was born out of a passion to optimize movement. He trained extensively in a variety of martial arts and competed collegiately as a D1 Track and Field 400m sprinter. Upon graduating with a bachelor’s degree in English Education he continued his education while serving as a commissioned Officer and Army Master Fitness Trainer.

Dr. Verdi’s journey with movement led him to realize that overall well-being is a process which requires awareness, prevention, and healing on a physical, mental-emotional, and spiritual level. He was inspired to find a healing modality which would allow him to share his passion for maintaining a healthy lifestyle filled with activity. He flew west of his hometown in Alpharetta, Georgia so he may discover the healing power of Eastern Medicine. He obtained his Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Sciences.

Dr. Verdi obtained specialized training in orthopedics, sports medicine, neurology, endocrinology, immune disorders, pain, and mental emotional disorders. He believes patients benefit when their well-being considers all aspects of their overall health. He utilizes the strengths of both Eastern and Western philosophies to treat the root cause of a condition.

He is committed to optimizing movement with his patients and within himself. He may be frequently found fire spinning along the banks of Mission Bay or performing on the rooftop of Trilogy Sanctuary on the night of the full moon. He enjoys rollerblading on the boardwalk near the ocean with his friends and sprinting on the sands of Pacific Beach as the sun sets.

Some of the services that James provides are acupuncture, dry needling, Herbal Medicine, athletic enhancement, neuromuscular trigger point therapy, axon nerve therapy, movement consultation, diet, structural therapy, Supplemental Tui Na/Tai/Swedish Massage, cupping, electrical stimulation acupuncture, and proprioceptive facilitation. His efforts are focused on helping patients to heal so they may move, dance, and sprint with him painlessly throughout life.
