L.Ac.

A native of Oceanside, California, Christian Guiness was drawn to the healing arts through a deep-rooted passion for integrative medicine and patient-centered care. He earned his Master’s degree from Pacific College of Health and Science, one of the largest acupuncture and Oriental medicine colleges in the United States. There, Christian received specialized training in orthopedics and sports medicine under one of the leading practitioners in the field of sports medicine acupuncture, developing a strong clinical foundation in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and evidence-based approaches to musculoskeletal care.

During his clinical training, Christian completed an internship with the Family Medicine Department at the University of California, San Diego, where he gained valuable experience working alongside medical physicians in an integrative care environment. This foundation shaped his collaborative approach to patient care and deepened his appreciation for the role acupuncture plays within modern medicine.

With a focus on orthopedic acupuncture, pain management, and general wellness. Christian has worked with a wide spectrum of people including athletic populations and patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, applying both Traditional Chinese Medicine principles and evidence-informed techniques to support healing and optimize performance. Beyond orthopedics, Christian also draws on the full depth of Traditional Chinese Medicine — including herbal medicine — to address internal medicine conditions such as gastrointestinal disorders, digestive dysfunction, and complex or difficult-to-diagnose presentations where conventional approaches may fall short. In addition to his acupuncture licensure, Christian holds certification as a Massage Therapist, allowing him to offer a more comprehensive and hands-on approach to orthopedic care.

At ActiveMed Integrative Health Center, Christian is committed to identifying the root causes of his patients’ conditions rather than simply managing symptoms. His clinical focus is on restoring function, reducing pain, and keeping patients active and performing at their best. With a particular emphasis on orthopedic dysfunction and musculoskeletal health, Christian works closely with each patient to develop targeted treatment plans that support recovery, prevent re-injury, and maintain long-term physical resilience. He brings both clinical precision and genuine care to every visit.
